Bangabandhu memorial museum

Bangabandhu memorial museum is situated at road no. 32 Dhanmondi R/A. The residence of the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman has been turn in to a museum. It contains rare collection of personal effects and photographs of his lifetime.
This three- stored building as known as Bangabandhu Bhaban. This building turned in to a museum in year 1997. It’s open 10am to 6pm from Thursday to Tuesday, Wednesday closed

The Liberation War Museum, Dhaka

The Liberation War Museum, commonly known as Muktijuddho Jadughor, started as a private initiative in 1996. Eight trustees established the museumwith the aim of preserving the magnificent and glorious history of our Liberation War for future generations of this country. It is located in Agargaon. When the Liberation War Museum started its journey at a rented house at Segun Bagicha in the heart of the city, its trustee members envisioned an institution that would mostly cater to the youths and inform them about the great sacrifices made for our independence . Till date, it is considered as one of the best places to get information on our Liberation War. Dhakeshwari Temple, Dhaka

Dhakeshwari , meaning ‘Goddess of Dhaka’ is the primary Hindu temple in Bangladesh. In the year 1966 it began to be called Dhakeshwari Jatiya Mandir, the result of a campaign by Bangladeshi Hindu groups who had been demanding official recognition following the declaration of Islam as the state religion in 1988. It is state-owned, giving it the distinction of being Bangladesh’s National Temple.  According to legend Dhakeshwari was built in the 12th century by King Ballal Sen of the Sena dynasty. It is said the king dreamt of a statue of the goddess Durga buried in the jungle and after finding the statue installed it in his temple as Dhakeshwari . The current architectural style of the temple cannot, however, be dated to the 12th century because of the numerous renovations, repairs and rebuildings that have taken place over time.
